Project kicks off with first meeting in Croatia

From 12–14 December 2025, the partners of the “Training Module First Aid” (TIFA) project met for the first time at a workshop hosted by the Croatian partner SRCE.

TIFA is based on an earlier project called “Inclusive First Aid” (INFA), which shared good practices on how to teach first aid to people with disabilities. One issue identified during INFA was that there is no training program for first aid instructors who work with learners with disabilities. Because of this, offering such courses often depended on each trainer’s personal experience, confidence, and motivation. TIFA aims to solve this problem by creating a structured training module for first aid trainers.

The main goal of this first workshop was to discuss and agree on a basic train‑the‑trainer curriculum and an adapted structure for the TIFA module. Participants formed working groups and divided tasks among them. Each group began working on the first ideas for the chapters they were responsible for.

After the workshop, the groups will continue meeting online to develop full draft versions of their assigned chapters. The whole consortium will come together again in spring 2026 for another in‑person workshop to present and review the work, discuss improvements, and give further feedback. This will help the groups produce a test-ready version of the curriculum, which will be used in the pilot train‑the‑trainer course planned for November.
